About the Project

Since the end of 2015 ICIRLD, IZ, KASA and CCI started the Community development through social entrepreneurship (CODE-SE) project, funded with support from the European Commission. This project will contribute to a sustainable community development and to enhancing the capacities of civil society organizations (CSOs) in generating income through running social entrepreneurship (SE) projects for the general benefit of the communities in seven regions of Armenia.-During the course of the project short-listed civil society actors will pass start-up social entrepreneurship training modules on designing, starting and running social enterprises and will develop their initial ideas in this sphere. Based on their participation and motivation 20 participants will be selected for the next phases of the project. They will be intensively trained through face-to-face trainings and e-learning platform courses and will get necessary competences to implement their developed and finalized ideas.-Furthermore, a consultancy service will be established for them, which will provide ongoing support for all the stages of business plan development, consideration of legal aspects, finances and accounting, sales and marketing. During this participants will also organize crowd funding campaigns, which will be supported and facilitated by a professional expert organization and this will serve as an opportunity to get additional financial support for their initiatives.-Moreover, at least 10 most promising social entrepreneurship initiatives will be funded with start-up grants. The maximum amount for one project will be 10000 € and the minimum 4000 €. And, afterwards, a system providing quality support and consultancy to those initiatives will be launched for another six month.-Non-governmental organizations and groups from the following regions of Armenia are eligible to participate in the project: Kotayk, Gegharkunik, Shirak, Syunik, Lori, Tavush and Vayots Dzor.
